This unconventional architectural jewel was built for Kurt Erich Suckert – better known as ‘Curzio Malaparte’. He was a flamboyant and unpredictable Italian journalist, writer and poet. But, most of all, a contradictory soul who fell in love with Capri during a visit to his friend and writer Axel Munthe back in 1936. Marked by the exile in Lipari, he finds in Point Massullo the perfect place where to devote himself completely to art. A few months later, Curzio Malaparte entrusted Adalberto Libera – one of the maximum representatives of the Italian Modern movement – to design: “A house like me, hard, strange, sincere”.
